Tetramorium sp. E (mentioned in the study) regularly devours chips, bread, cheese curls, etc. I place down for them. They seems to enjoy the more greasy foods in the potato chip and snack category....

By the way, bits of junk food often make pretty good bait even for country ants, just as a way to bring them out and see what's around. They can be followed home to nests from bait, too.
